I never use individual water bottles. I always use refillable ones. I can see no reason at all for single use bottles at all. Install water fountains at public places where they sell water bottles.
I agree. People say "well you can just recycle it" but it is much better just not to use the resources to make it in the first place. Plus, plastic loses quality when it is recycled.
And the giant island of floating plastic is called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, and I have info about it printing right now so I can write some posts about it. So stay tuned, people! :)
